  1. I heavily enjoyed this reading as it provided me with an outlook and real-life experience on what abortion procedures looked like in the Roe era. I absolutely agree with the central message behind this essay, there is an immense amount of political and educational value in shared experience. If more individuals who are comfortable in sharing their experiences would do so, there would be less societal taboo, and legislators could see how common, but incredibly hard, it is to have the procedure. As Bridgewater states at the end of her essay “speaking one’s truth…creates the potential for empowerment and understanding” (Bridgewater, 155).
